In the Beginning
Now, a report of FESTIVAL, the second day of Knotfest.
Exhausted from the previous day, I couldn’t get out of bed and arrived at the venue quite late.
Noisemaker
I had to start watching from the middle of the show.
I thought the album I listened to in preparation was not so good.
But when I saw them live, I was pleasantly surprised.
I guess I don’t know the true value of a live performance until I see it live.
Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas
I had been curious about this band because I had heard their name often, but I had neglected to prepare for the show.
Therefore, it was my first time to see them, but this band was amazing!
The band’s sound was overwhelmingly mixed and matched.
The power of the band, changing the arrangements as they went along, pulling the audience along with them.
It was a lot of fun to watch.
The keyboardist and growl (in the pattern of Tommy Rogers of Between the Buried and Me) had a strong presence.
He looks like Alice Cooper.
I would like to see this band in a one-man show.
Coldrain
Coldrain plays well and sings well, no wonder they are so popular.
They were also very polite, appearing on stage wearing Slipknot hoodies and giving very nice talks such as “This is our formal attire today,” “We were mistaken for Slipknot fans in the backyard,” “Slipknot gave a chance to a band whose name they don’t even know,” and many other such things.
The songs were cool, too, of course.
Parkway Drive
I think I enjoyed this show the most of the day.
Just like yesterday’s “In Flames,” the audience called out, “Parkway Drive!”
The band members looked happy.
Many of the songs were slow, which was pleasant for my tired body.
I don’t know if this is an accurate analogy, but it was like listening to “Obituary”.
Also, the sound quality was excellent.
There seems to be a technical difference between foreign bands and Japanese bands.
Maximum the Hormone
As Kanmuri tweeted on Twitter, “Are they a monster?”
They wore a truly monstrous aura.
Ryo-kun’s appearance was amazing!
Unfortunately, I got a stomach ache halfway through the show, and sadly had to listen to “Tsume Tsume Tsume” in the restroom, which I definitely wanted to hear.
Chicken noodle chili….
Completely drained of energy, I decided to sit on the floor and watch.
The Nakayamakini-kun crap in the middle of the show was super funny.
Daisuke-han’s aura of doing that with a straight face is also amazing.
Korn
Tired to the limit, I decided to go home after listening to “Blind” by Korn.
After listening to “Blind” in the middle of the show, I was already satisfied.
I didn’t have enough energy left to enjoy the show.
At the End
It would have been a shame not to see Slipknot at the end, but I was at my limit.
I could have seen the show yesterday, so there was nothing I could do.
I was heading home in a daze.
Okay, I’ve decided, I’m going to get my strength back.
Otherwise, I won’t be able to enjoy the festival.
I’m going to do a shuttle run now.
