Using odd time signatures and bluesy atmospheres
B-Thong is a Swedish band.
The band appeared at a time when so-called “Pantera-style” or “modern heaviness” was popular.
The band played music with a unique characteristics, using odd time signatures and bluesy atmospheres.
One of the most impressive members of the band was vocalist Tony Jelencovich.
His vocals are powerful and intense.
Not just one wild shout, he sang in a clear voice and even rapped very quickly.
His vocals are comparable to those of Philip Anselmo of “Pantera.
The band’s vocal ability is undoubtedly a major part of its appeal
It is said that Tom Araya of “Slayer” is the vocalist who can say the word “War” the coolest in the world.
Tony Jelencovich is the best when it comes to shouting “Yeah” or “Ha!
The band’s vocal ability is undoubtedly a major part of its appeal.
Played with fewer songs, I think they would have received a higher evaluation
The music is also excellent, but unfortunately there are too many filler.
If the band had narrowed down their song list a little more and played with fewer songs, I think they would have received a higher evaluation.
It is also a pity that the composition tends to be redundant.
Tony Jelencovich left the band after the release of the second album “Damage,” and the band’s musical style changed drastically from the third album.
Since then, B-Thong’s music has not been released.

(Postscript)
It was played on Masa Ito’s Power Rock Today the other day, and I guess many of you must have been quite impressed with it.
I have many favorite songs too.
I don’t think we call it “modern heaviness” anymore.
I guess we call it “groove metal.”
Djent bands are also clearly under the influence of “Pantera,” so “Pantera” was still great.
“B-Thong”, who jumped on it right away, is also great!
