The first Carcass album is their holy grail
There is a genre of music called goregrind.
Poor sound quality, grotesque lyrics, messy blast beats, and cruel jackets.
These characteristics are common, and the first Carcass album is their holy grail.
Realistic death and cruelty are not entertaining.
Now, not a few of these goregrind bands use a lot of SEs.
They insert sound effects in between songs.
Of course, they are not ordinary sounds, but cruel sounds that must have been pulled from grotesque videos, sounds from pornography, human excretion sounds, and so on, all of which are physiologically repulsive.
I hate this bad taste SE.
Most of these sounds are realistic (although some are taken from movies, etc.).
Atrocity and physiological disgust constructed in fantasy can be entertaining.
But the realistic ones are just plain distasteful.
I think there was an essay by Yukito Ayatsuji or something along the lines of “death and brutal scenes in horror movies and splatters are a blessing,” and I completely agree.
Realistic death and cruelty are not entertaining.
The tables have turned, it is very disconcerting to listen to
One more point.
In the direction of the band goregrind, I can very much understand their desire to use the aforementioned SEs.
But if that’s the case, it should be used only for dramatic purposes, and in short bursts.
There are some long SEs that completely cut off the flow of the album.
The tables have turned, it is very disconcerting to listen to.
I make this complaint because I like the “music” of gore grind itself.
If gore grind does not refrain from easy SE embellishment, it will have no future.
In that sense, the first Carcass album is an undeniable holy book.

(Postscript)
Yeah, this one hasn’t changed my opinion even now.
I wonder, do people in the gore grind these days also put in long, unnecessary SEs?
It’s still no good, you know, easy use.
